“Food is not about impressing people. In fact, it’s just the opposite: it’s about making them feel comfortable.” (The Barefoot Contessa Cookbook)
Moving to San Francisco after graduation was something I had never imagined or really wanted. Every day I am thankful for this city and the memories I have made here. Each day I pass a new restaurant, read a new blog post, or see an Instagram that inspires me to continue to explore this city.
Along with exploring all this city has to offer I have learned to explore my own passions and find joy in new tasks. Cooking and baking were always something that overwhelmed me. I am a very task-oriented person, so the thought of experimenting while cooking just seemed like a guarantee of failure. I was a very religious recipe follower and had would search Youtube for guidance for some of the most menial cooking tasks.
It wasn’t until the start of my relationship with Nick that I really learned how much happiness could be found in the kitchen. Cooking together has become one of my favorite ways to spend a weekend. Though I’ve burnt a few things and dropped an entire cheesecake on the ground, I’ve learned that sometimes the mistakes are just a part of the process and that the final product is a testament to the entire process.
One of my favorite things about exploring new places and trying new recipes is sharing what I find. I created this blog so I could document my adventures in cooking and San Francisco. I hope that I can inspire other people to explore some of the places and foods that I feature.
Thank you for visiting!
